Thursday July 15th 2010 “Christmas in July with the Army”, Victoria Barracks, Oxford St, Paddington

This truly is a “Christmas in July” lunch with a difference!                                    Responsible Party: Ian Richards.

Self drive arrival 9.45am.

Thursday 15 July 10 - Christmas in July lunch with the Army at Victoria Barracks, Paddington.  -Responsible party Ian Richards - 9955 7582. -  starting with a band recital at 10.00 am  , followed by a tour of the barracks, a look thru the museum, a short talk then Q and A with two or three recent returnees from Afghanistan.  Then in the Officers' Mess - pre-lunch social drinks followed by a traditional three-course Christmas Dinner including wines with Commandant and Mess president invited as our guests. Total cost $70 per head.   

Arrive - at 9.45 AM - by Oxford St entrance by car or taxi. Parking available. When paying for visit provide car rego number and names of occupants for car, and names of occupants for taxi.

Come and see the fascinating organization involved in producing our daily newspaper and magazines, once the copy has been finalised. It’s a huge complex, highly automated from receipt of the large rolls of paper from the Albury mill to the finished product.

A self drive outing, arrive and park on site at 9.30am in time for morning tea. Tour starts 10.00am then at 12 noon we have a light lunch in the Canteen. Cost $40.00 per head includes morning tea, the tour and lunch.

Maximum number – 30 so book early.

Another exclusive special for our fortunate members and partners. Appropriately refreshed with tea/coffee on arrival at 10.30am, we commence the guided tour at 11.00am followed at 12.30pm with an opportunity to reflect on our morning’s experience over a two course luncheon including wine and coffee. Cost $.......per head          wine included/excluded?
