Thursday March 11   Behind the Scenes at
 Taronga Park Zoo
                 Responsible Party: Mark Jacobs

What a program! Currently proposed for welcome by possibly the Chairman or Chief Executive, in any event we will have our own guides. The itinerary is somewhat variable depending on whether particular animals want to cuddle us or eat us. But it could include a visit to the Zoo Hospital, feeding the giraffes, up close and damp to the baby elephant as he is bathed, and a talk on the Big Cats. We have reserved seats for the Bird Show and the Seal Show. And somehow along these forest paths, we fit in morning tea at the new “Roar and Snore” site. (Sounds like home).

Meeting Place: “Taronga Centre” – about 100 metres downhill from main (upper) entry.  Commencement Time: 8.00am

Transport:
By car – park in car park off Bradleys Head Road, thence just a short walk.
By ferry: - from Circular Quay. Buses meet every ferry and take visitors to main entry.
By bus – Route 247 departs Wynyard (but you’ll have to get up early to be on time).

Cost: $40.00 per head includes morning tea. Lunch at own arrangement.

Maximum number of attendees: 30 – so book early.

Attire: Recommend comfortable walking shoes and dress for the weather

Tuesday April 13th 2010 Visit to Reserve Bank, 65 Martin Place
Responsible Party: Ian Richards

Do we still have any gold reserves? Where are our polymer bank notes printed? Apart from periodic announcements re interest rates, just what does go on behind this marble façade in Martin Place? We are very fortunate to have this opportunity to be guided through the inner sanctum (including the museum) of this pinnacle of Australia’s monetary policy.

We meet 10.30am at the Bank.
Following at 12.15pm, we lunch with wine or soft drinks at panoramic Buena Vista Level 14, Law Courts Building, 184 Phillip St. Cost $40.00 per head.
